A friend of mine wanted her header for LJ to theme around her LJ name "Naiad of Delphi" and the verse she wrote about that. The idea is that the oracle/priestess may be a naiad (river nymph) or might have a past life as one, either way she's sitting at the water's edge remembering the freedom of swimming as a naiad longingly.

Fortunately, as I was debating how to illustrate that I came across the wonderful stock by Sinned-Angel-Stock

Actual uploaded header on her journal wound up being slightly different because the original theme I was using decided it didn't want to work with Plus account but the basic concept is the same.

Most of the Photoshop work I did was to the mermaid using layering and putting a slight scale effect on her tail. I wanted to make the header look a dreamy, but the pictures themselves really didn't need much given they're very cool

I did not charge for this work, though I do take paid commissions
